KNSG Launches Digital Revolution with Laptop Distribution for 44 Local Govt Planning Heads

Kano Ministry for Local Government has taken a significant step towards promoting digital governance and enhancing productivity in its operations. As part of the government’s efforts to leverage technology to drive development and improve service delivery. The Commissioner of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Alh. Mohammed Tajo Othman, disclosed this while distributing laptops to 44 Local Government Planning Heads, to streamline their work, enhance data analysis, and make informed decisions. Mohammed Othman said the laptops will enable planning heads to work more efficiently, reduce paperwork, and focus on delivering results-driven projects and serve data for decades The initiative is a key component of the government’s efforts to harness technology to drive development and improve service delivery, and improve the overall productivity of local government officials. The Commissioner also advised the beneficiaries to engage in extra training after working hours to better their proficiency in using the digital tools. He added that the ministry is committed to ensuring due process, fairness, and transparency in line with the incumbent administration of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf. Earlier, in her welcome address the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Hajija Fatima Adamu Barde, emphasised the importance of technology in modern governance, noting that it would promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance. She highlighted that the initiative is a crucial step towards promoting good governance and assured that the government would continue to prioritise transparency and accountability in its operations. Hajiya Fatima Barde charged the Beneficiaries to make good use of the laptops ensure their safety as it’s meant for office work and not their personal belongings.
